Masters of the Universe Origins

In the Masters of the Universe Origins line, Clamp Champ is presented as the premier royal bodyguard to King Randor and the steadfast defender of the Royal Palace of Eternia. Known as the Heroic soldier with the iron grip, he serves as a critical frontline defender against Skeletor and evil forces. His Origins presentation highlights his combat readiness, immortalized on retro card art that depicts him engaged in battle against his nemesis, the evil ninja warrior Ninjor. Within extended Masters of the Universe lore, Clamp Champ is also recognized as the elite warrior who steps up to assume the full title and duties of Man-At-Arms whenever Duncan is incapacitated. Packaged in Wave 4 Deluxe accompanied by the 'Sneak Attack' mini-comic, this version captures Clamp Champ in his prime as Eternia's master defender.

Clamp Champ holds a uniquely historic place in Masters of the Universe history as the only Black Heroic Warrior action figure created for the original 1980s Mattel vintage toy line. Designed by David Wolfram and debuted in late 1986 or 1987, the character provided landmark diversity and representation among Eternia's defenders. His 2021 release in Wave 4 Deluxe of the Origins line honors this legacy, elevating a fan-favorite Heroic Warrior with modern articulation and modularity while remaining faithful to his classic 5.5-inch retro aesthetic.

The Masters of the Universe Origins Clamp Champ figure maintains the character's classic 1980s appearance while integrating updated 16-point articulation, including double ball-jointed neck joints, swivel/hinge limbs, and fully modular mix-and-match body parts. He sports his distinctive blue, silver, and red color scheme, outfitted with removable blue-and-silver soft plastic chest armor. As a Deluxe figure release, Clamp Champ comes with two interchangeable head sculpts—one featuring a neutral focus expression and another with an expressive grin—alongside swappable hands. His signature gear includes the large spring-action Techno Clamp (Power Pincer) and a secondary handheld smaller clamp.
